 2023 Preview 


       LeFlore finished the 2022 season with a disappointing 0-10 record. Last year LeFlore finished ninth in Class 5A region one with a 0-8 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs.

       The offense struggled putting points on the score board as LeFlore averaged scoring just 7.3 points a game.

       The Rattlers would prefer to forget the past two seasons as they have finished with a 0-20 record. Since 2010, LeFlore has gone a combined 33-101. Their 24.6% winning percentage ranks 55th in Class 5A over the past thirteen seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, LeFlore has not won much with a record of 88-174. Their 34.0% winning percentage ranks 49th in Class 5A and 329th in the AHSAA. Their last winning season was 2010.




       The Rattlers are led by head coach Renardo Jackson who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 0-10 record in his first season at LeFlore. The Rattlers have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Jackson.

       Coach overall record as a head football coach in Alabama for one  stands at 0-10 (%).

       The Rattlers will christen their new stadium when they open the season against Chickasaw. The Rattlers have one of the toughest overall schedules in Class 5A. Their opponents had a combined record of 59-42 last season. That ranks 7th in Class 5A and 39th in the AHSAA.

       The Rattlers enter the 2023 season in the middle of a 23 game losing streak. They would like nothing better than to end the string of losses early in the season.

       This season, the Rattlers will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in region one. After not winning a single game last year, the goal at LeFlore will be to simply win some games.

      

       The Rattlers open the 2023 season at home against non-region opponent Chickasaw on Friday, August 25 at Prichard Stadium. Last year the Chickasaw Chieftains finished with an overall record of 7-4 and in fourth place in Class 2A region one. The Chieftains lost in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs to Ariton by a score of 61-22.

       LeFlore and Chickasaw have met a total of 2 times on the football field. The Rattlers have a 1-1-0 record against the Chieftains. They last met in 2022 with Chickasaw winning by a score of 8-0.
