Montevallo completed the 2021 season with a 8-3 record. With their 5-2 region record and a third place finish in Class 4A region three, the Bulldogs earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. Montevallo's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Jackson by a score of 44-20. Since 2010, Montevallo has gone a combined 63-66. The Wildcats lost in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs to Faith Academy by a score of 42-14. Montevallo and Shelby County have met a total of 73 times on the football field.
