Marbury completed the 2021 season with a 4-7 record. With their 3-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 5A region three, the Bulldogs earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. Marbury's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to UMS-Wright by a score of 45-7. Marbury was inconsistent offensively last year and they need some improvement if the Bulldogs want to be competitive. They only averaged 15.4 points a game. Since 2010, Marbury has gone a combined 43-81. Their 34.7% winning percentage ranks 41st in Class 5A over the past twelve seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Marbury has managed to compile a record of 113-146. Their 44.0% winning percentage ranks 34th in Class 5A and 249th in the AHSAA. The Bulldogs are led by head coach Hayden Stockton who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 4-7 record in his first season at Marbury. Under his direction the Bulldogs have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Stockton. Coach Stockton's overall record as a head football coach in four season stands at 14-28 (33.3%). Over the course of his career, Coach Stockton's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times . The Marbury Bulldogs will play in Class 5A region three during the 2022 season. With a little luck and some improvement, the Bulldogs could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region three this season. The Bulldogs open the 2022 season on the road against non-region opponent Elmore County on Thursday, August 18 at Burt-Haynie Field. Last year the Elmore County Panthers finished with an overall record of 0-10 and in seventh place in Class 5A region four. The Panthers closed out the regular season with a loss to Jemison by a score of 21-10. Marbury and Elmore County have met a total of 15 times on the football field.
