 2018 Preview

Ohatchee completed the 2017 season with a 8-3 record. With their 4-2 region record and a third place finish in Class 3A region five, the Indians earned a spot in the playoffs in 2017. Ohatchee's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Sylvania by a score of 37-14.

Since 2010, Ohatchee has gone a combined 33-52. Their 39.0% winning percentage ranks 37th in Class 2A over the past eight seasons.

Over the past 25 seasons, Ohatchee has managed to compile a record of 113-141. Their 44.0% winning percentage ranks 38th in Class 2A and 245th in the AHSAA.

The Indians are led by head coach Scott Martin who is entering his fifth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 25-20 over the past four seasons at Ohatchee. Under his direction the Indians have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Martin.

Coach Martin's overall record as a head football coach in eight season stands at 51-38 (57.3%). Over the course of his career, Coach Martin's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of six times .

The Ohatchee Indians will play in Class 2A region six during the 2018 season. The Indians may find the schedule slightly easier this season with the move down in classification from Class 3A to 2A. They will compete in region six this year.

The Indians should be in contention for a playoff spot in region six this season. They will be looking to gain an advantage by hosting a first round postseason game.

The Indians open the 2018 season at home against non-region opponent White Plains on Friday, August 31 at Roy C. Owens Field. Last year the White Plains Wildcats finished with an overall record of 1-9 and in eighth place in Class 4A region five. The Wildcats ended last season on a positive note with a win over Walter Wellborn by a score of 18-0 after failing to gain a playoff spot.

Ohatchee and White Plains have met a total of 32 times on the football field. The Indians have a 25-7-0 record against the Wildcats. They last met in 2017 with Ohatchee winning by a score of 33-14.
