 2018 Preview 


       McIntosh finished the 2017 season with a disappointing 1-9 record. Last year McIntosh finished seventh in Class 1A region one with a 1-6 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs.

       The offense struggled putting points on the score board as McIntosh averaged scoring just 8.8 points a game. The Demons also struggled on the defensive side of the football as they found little success in stopping opposing offenses and allowed an average of 41.7 points a game.

       The Demons would prefer to forget the past two seasons as they have finished with a 2-18 record. Since 2010, McIntosh has gone a combined 26-59. Their 31.0% winning percentage ranks 45th in Class 1A over the past eight seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, McIntosh has not won much with a record of 84-161. Their 34.0% winning percentage ranks 48th in Class 1A and 316th in the AHSAA.




       The Demons will be under the direction of new head football coach Renald Davis as they enter the 2018 season.

       Coach Davis' overall record as a head football coach in three season stands at 20-17 (54.1%).

       The McIntosh Demons will play in Class 1A region one during the 2018 season.

       The Demons enter the 2018 season in the middle of a 6 game losing streak. They would like nothing better than to end the string of losses early in the season.

       It will be an uphill battle for the Demons if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region one this season. After just a single win last year, McIntosh will be hopeful of winning a few more games this season.

       The Demons open the 2018 season at home against non-region opponent J.U. Blacksher on Friday, August 24 at H.H. Wiggins Field. Last year the J.U. Blacksher Bulldogs finished with an overall record of 6-5 and in third place in Class 2A region one. The Bulldogs lost in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs to Luverne by a score of 47-20.

       McIntosh and J.U. Blacksher have met a total of 14 times on the football field. The Demons have a 6-8-0 record against the Bulldogs. They last met in 2017 with J.U. Blacksher winning by a score of 56-20.
