 2018 Preview

Keith completed the 2017 season with a 6-5 record. With their 4-2 region record and a third place finish in Class 2A region four, the Bears earned a spot in the playoffs in 2017. Keith's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Abbeville by a score of 16-12.

The Bears last playoff victory came during the 1995 season. They would love to break through this year with a post season win.

Since 2010, Keith has gone a combined 45-42. Their 52.0% winning percentage ranks 24th in Class 1A over the past eight seasons.

Over the past 25 seasons, Keith has managed to compile a record of 108-142. Their 43.0% winning percentage ranks 33rd in Class 1A and 250th in the AHSAA.

The Bears will be under the direction of new head football coach Anthony Lumpkin as they enter the 2018 season.

The Keith Bears will play in Class 1A region three during the 2018 season. The Bears may find the schedule slightly easier this season with the move down in classification from Class 2A to 1A. They will compete in region three this year.

The Bears will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region three this season.

The Bears open the 2018 season at home against non-region opponent Billingsley on Friday, August 24 at J.V. Caldwell Stadium. Last year the Billingsley Bears finished with an overall record of 3-7 and in sixth place in Class 2A region four. The Bears closed out the regular season with a loss to Dallas County by a score of 30-14.

Keith and Billingsley have met a total of 10 times on the football field. The Bears have a 5-5-0 record against the Bears. They last met in 2017 with Keith winning by a score of 42-36.
