 2018 Preview 


       Florence completed the 2017 season with a 4-7 record. With their 4-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 6A region eight, the Falcons earned a spot in the playoffs in 2017. Florence's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Pinson Valley by a score of 45-20.

       The defense allowed a team record 365 points last season. It marked the first time since the 2014 season that the Falcons qualified for the playoffs.

       Since 2010, Florence has gone a combined 48-41. Their 54.0% winning percentage ranks 17th in Class 7A over the past eight seasons.

       Over the past 14 seasons, Florence has managed to compile a record of 85-69. Their 55.0% winning percentage ranks 18th in Class 7A and 146th in the AHSAA.




       The Falcons will be under the direction of new head football coach Will Hester as they enter the 2018 season.

       The Florence Falcons will play in Class 7A region four during the 2018 season. The Falcons move up in classification to Class 7A. They may find the going slightly tougher with the move.

       It will be an uphill battle for the Falcons if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region four this season.

       The Falcons open the 2018 season on the road against non-region opponent Blackman TN on Friday, August 24.

       This will be the second meeting between Florence and Blackman TN on the football field. The Falcons have a 0-1-0 record against Blackman TN. They last met in with

       Florence returns 6A All-State  running back Armoni Goodwin. He was named to the first team last season. The Falcons also return  receiver Cadarrius Thompson. He was named to the first team.
