 2016 Preview 


       Prattville completed the 2015 season with a 6-4 record. Last year Prattville just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 7A region two with a 2-4 region record.

       The Lions hope to get back closer to the 11-3 record in 2014.

       Since 2010, Prattville has gone a combined 49-20. Their 71.0% winning percentage ranks 7th in Class 7A over the past six seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Prattville has gone a combined 231-73. Their 76.0% winning percentage ranks 2nd in Class 7A and 9th in the AHSAA. The Lions have been successful on the football field with twenty-three winning seasons during this time. Their last losing season was 1998.

       The Lions are led by head coach Chad Anderson who is entering his fifth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 29-14 over the past four seasons at Prattville. Under his direction the Lions have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Anderson.

       Coach Anderson's overall record as a head football coach in twelve season stands at 83-48 (63.4%). Over the course of his career, Coach Anderson's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of eight times and won one region championship.

       The Prattville Lions will play in Class 7A region two during the 2016 season.

       The Lions should be in contention for a playoff spot in region two this season. They will be looking to gain an advantage by hosting a first round postseason game. Prattville missed the playoffs last year but have expectations of a return to the post season this year.

      Quarterback Josh Moore returns for his senior season after completing 60 of 137 passes for 858 yards and 3 touchdowns as a junior last season. He also ran for another 693 yards and 7 scores.

       The Lions open the 2016 season at home against non-region opponent Wetumpka on Friday, August 19 at Stanley Jenson Field. Last year the Wetumpka Indians finished with an overall record of 4-7 and in fourth place in Class 6A region two. The Indians lost in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs to McAdory by a score of 35-3.

       Prattville and Wetumpka have met a total of 57 times on the football field. The Lions have a 27-28-2 record against the Indians. They last met in 2013 with Prattville winning by a score of 28-7.
