 2016 Preview 

       Hale County completed the 2015 season with a 5-5 record. Last year Hale County just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 3A region four with a 2-4 region record.

       Since 2010, Hale County has gone a combined 31-33. Their 48.0% winning percentage ranks 35th in Class 4A over the past six seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Hale County has managed to compile a record of 138-129. Their 52.0% winning percentage ranks 22nd in Class 4A and 166th in the AHSAA.

Joe Nettles leaves Hale County after just one season at the school. He landed at Sumter Academy in the AISA. His only team at Hale County finished 5-5.

Charles Moody Jr. takes over the football program at Hale County for the 106 season. He arrives after serving as the head football coach at Aliceville from 2011-2014. His teams finished a combined 28-17 in four seasons.

He spent last year as the head coach at Wilcox Central where his team finished 0-10.

       The Hale County Wildcats will play in Class 4A region four during the 2016 season. The Wildcats move up in classification to Class 4A. They may find the going slightly tougher with the move.

       It will be an uphill battle for the Wildcats if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region four this season.

       The Wildcats open the 2016 season on the road against non-region opponent Winfield on Friday, August 26 at Estes Hudson Stadium. Last year the Winfield Pirates finished with an overall record of 10-2 and in first place in Class 3A region five. The Pirates lost in the second round of the Class 3A playoffs to Colbert County by a score of 26-20.
