 2016 Preview 


       Last year Robertsdale finished seventh in Class 6A region 1 with a 1-7 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs.

       The Golden Bears would prefer to forget the past two seasons as they have finished with a 4-16 record. Since 2010, Robertsdale has gone a combined 16-44. Their 27.0% winning percentage ranks 52nd in Class 6A over the past six seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Robertsdale has not won much with a record of 79-177. Their 31.0% winning percentage ranks 54th in Class 6A and 338th in the AHSAA.

       The Golden Bears are led by head coach Brian Campbell who is entering his fourth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 9-31 over the past four seasons at Robertsdale. The Golden Bears have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Campbell.

       Coach Campbell's overall record as a head football coach in four seasons stands at 9-31 (22.5%).

      

      The Robertsdale Golden Bears will play in Class 6A region 1 during the 2016 season.

       This season, the Golden Bears will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in Region 1.

       The Golden Bears open the 2016 season on the road against non-region opponent Foley on Friday, August 19 at Ivan Jones Stadium. Last year the Foley Lions finished with an overall record of 6-5 and in fourth place in Class 7A region 1. The Lions lost in the first round of the Class 7A playoffs to Central Phenix City by a score of 34-14.

       Robertsdale and Foley have met a total of 99 times on the football field. The Golden Bears have a 17-76-6 record against the Lions. They last met in 2021 with Foley winning by a score of 28-19.
