 2016 Preview 


       Last year Priceville captured the region 7 title and a number one seed in the Class 4A playoffs. They finished region play with a 6-1 record. Priceville's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Hamilton by a score of 29-28.  The 450 points scored by the Bulldogs last year were a team record in a single season.

       Since 2010, Priceville has gone a combined 21-40. Their 34.0% winning percentage ranks 44th in Class 4A over the past six seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Priceville has managed to compile a record of 50-85. Their 37.0% winning percentage ranks 47th in Class 4A and 305th in the AHSAA.

       The Bulldogs are led by head coach David Dirk Strunk who is entering his fifth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 21-30 over the past five seasons at Priceville. Under his direction the Bulldogs have qualified for the playoffs once. They have won one region crown with Coach Strunk.

       Coach Strunk's overall record as a head football coach in fourteen seasons stands at 64-86 (42.7%). Over the course of his career, Coach Strunk's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of six times and won two region championships.

      

      The Priceville Bulldogs will play in Class 4A region 8 during the 2016 season. Following realignment, the Bulldogs remain in 4A but move from region 7 over to region 8.

       The Bulldogs have a good chance to earn one of the playoff slots for Region 8 this season.

       The Bulldogs open the 2016 season at home against non-region opponent West Morgan on Thursday, August 25 at Bulldog Stadium. Last year the West Morgan Rebels finished with an overall record of 0-10 and in eighth place in Class 3A region 8. The closed out the regular season with a loss to East Lawrence by a score of 28-26.

       Priceville and West Morgan have met a total of 12 times on the football field. The Bulldogs have a 8-4-0 record against the Rebels. They last met in 2021 with Priceville winning by a score of 24-7.

  








Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Alabama School for the Deaf won Deaf School National Championships in 1971, 1987, 1991, 2000, 2001 and 2002.
