            Sorrell was named All-Conference, Honorable Mention All-State… Also played baseball and basketball, making second team All-Conference in latter sport. Captained team in 1959, rushing for average of 6.6 yards per carry, punting 36.4 and completing 32 of 61 passes for 52.5 percent.




Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Foley outscored their opponents 433-6 in 1961. The Lions were named state champions by the Alabama Sports Writers Association that season.
