 High School Bio:

            Golden was selected to Montgomery Advertiser All-State football team. Other sports - basketball and baseball. Jerry played three years varsity football, was captain of his squad one year. Specialty - broken field running. Grid statistics - 990 yards gained as a senior.

The first football game played by a high school team in Alabama was in 1892 when Central Birmingham (Phillips) lost to Alabama 56-0 on November 11.
