 High School Bio:

            Jimmy Woodward, an All-State, All-County Halfback who represented Tuscaloosa High in the 1953 All-Star game. Coached by Swede Kendall, Jimmy captained his team and played four years of varsity football. He also played basketball and baseball and went out for track. With punting as his specialty, Jimmy achieved a 40 yard average as a senior.

The first football game played by a high school team in Alabama was in 1892 when Central Birmingham (Phillips) lost to Alabama 56-0 on November 11.
