 High School Bio:

            Played offensive tackle and defensive end for three years at Northside where he averaged 12 tackles a game. He was named All-State, All-Conference and All-American. He was a team captain as a senior.

The first football game played by a high school team in Alabama was in 1892 when Central Birmingham (Phillips) lost to Alabama 56-0 on November 11.
