High School Bio:
Patrick rushed for 5,420 yards in his career at Walker which was a state record at the time. As a junior he ran for 1,795 yards on 151 carries averaging 11.9 yards a carry. He had a season high 293 yards against Shades Valley. His best effort came in a game against Berry when he ran for 372 yards on 32 carries and scored three touchdowns. As a sophomore he gained 1,965 yards and as a senior he ran for 1,675 yards and scored 16 touchdowns. He only played in eight games as a senior due to injuries. He was named Parade All-American, All-State, State MVP and was the MVP of the 4A state championship game. He also ran track at Walker.
Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History
Morris Higginbotham coached three different teams to divisional state championships in the 1950s. He won titles at Walnut Grove in 1952, West Blocton in 1955 and Enterprise in 1960.
