            Played split end and safety on varsity squad for 2 years and was captain. Earned All-Independent, Grid Forecasters Award, All-County. Averaged 20 yards per reception, 16 yards punt return, 4 tackles, and 3 assists.




Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Luverne 'Toad' Wise was the first female football player in Alabama and may have been the first in the country. She was a kicker for the Escambia County Blue Devils in 1939-40.
