 High School Bio:

            Huntsville High School halfback, tight end and linebacker played two years of varsity football. He averaged catching about two passes a game. He was All-City (Huntsville Times & News, 67 and 68); All-Tennessee Valley Conference, 1968; Honorable Mention All-State; Most Outstanding Defensive Player in Huntsville High School in 1968. He ran track, also. He helped lead them to the class 4A state championship game.





Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Luverne 'Toad' Wise was the first female football player in Alabama and may have been the first in the country. She was a kicker for the Escambia County Blue Devils in 1939-40.
