            Jeffers played 4 years varsity football for Coffee High School, Florence, and was captain of his squad for 1 year. Athletic honors which he has received include All Tri-Cities, All Tennessee Valley Conference, and All State.

Collinsville completed the 1931 season with a record of 1-4-5. The five ties will forever be a state record since all games are now decided by overtime.
