 High School Bio:

            Emma Sansom High (Gadsden) quarterback played three years varsity football. He specialized in passing and faking the ball and threw 10 touchdown passes in 1961. He was named All-County, Co-Captain, Honorable Mention All-State. He also played baseball and basketball.

The first football game played by a high school team in Alabama was in 1892 when Central Birmingham (Phillips) lost to Alabama 56-0 on November 11.
