2026 Head Football Coaching Changes

St. James


     Larry Ware served as interim head football coach during the 2025 season filling the void when Aubrey Blackwell left the position. Now the Trojans will be in search of their fifth head coach in as many years. Just three short years ago St. James defeated Piedmont to claim the school's first ever state championship under Jimmy Perry. Since then it has been one and done for the head coaching position.

The Trojans' have built a winning tradition the past decade and hopes are high those winning ways will continue with the right hire. Look for a long list of candidates for this job.



2026 Season 

     Hayden Stockton brings more than 25 years of coaching experience at both the collegiate and high school levels and currently serves as Saint James' strength and conditioning coach. Stockton is a native of Winston County and was a member of the Alabama football program between 1992-1996.

He has been a head coach at Marbury for two seasons and West End for another three years.

Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

In 1925 Langdale tied a record by defeating Milltown 125-0. Hamilton had set the record by thrashing Fayette 125-0 in 1915.
