2026 Head Football Coaching Changes

Fred Farrier was relieved of his coaching duties after seven games of the 2025 football season at Hazel Green with a 2-5 record. Torrey Strong stepped in to serve as the interim head coach the final three games of the season. The Trojans have not had a winning season since 2016 when they won six games. Hazel Green has never been a football power by any means and has not won a playoff game in eight attempts at the post season. Over the past twenty years the Tojans have seen ten different head coaches lead the football program with very little luck. 2026 Season Juwan Simpson has been hired as the next head coach at Hazel Green for the 2026 football season. Simpson is a native of Decatur and graduate of Austin High School. He went on to play football at Alabama from 2003 to 2006 where he became a star performer on the field. Simpson spent eight seasons in the Canadian Football League where his team won the Grey Cup in 2008 and 2014. He most recently served as an assistant at East Mississippi Community College. | |
