2026 Head Football Coaching Changes

Joel Schrenk leaves the Elkmont Red Devils after two seasons. He was not able to turn the football fortunes around in those two seasons going just 3-17. It seems Coach Schrenk is retiring according to sources. He has been a head coach fourteen seasons in Alabama with an overall record of 63-83 at four different schools. Now the Red Devils will in search of the fifth head coach in only seven seasons. Elkmont has not won more than four games in any season since 2014 under Coach Sean Holt. That was also the last season they qualified for the playoffs. 2026 Season Will Furlong arrives at Elkmont after spending the last five seasons as the offensive coordinator at Athens. Furlong is a former North Alabama football player and also played at Florida State. His other coaching stops include assistant coaching duties at Point University, the University of West Alabama and Tuscaloosa County High. | |
