2026 Head Football Coaching Changes

Central Phenix City


     Patrick Nix leaves Central after six very successful seasons. Nix led the Red Devils to the 2023 AHSAA Class 7A State Championship, three state title game appearances, six state semifinals and four region titles. In thirteen seasons overall, his teams finished 131-36 with three state championships, two coming at Pinson Valley.



2026 Season 

     Cody Flournoy returns to Central after serving two stints with the program previously. But this time he will be back as the head football coach of the Red Devils. Flournoy is a proven winner and owns a record of 80-31 in nine seasons as a head coach.

He spent the last seven seasons at Jackson leading the Aggies to a state championship in each of the past two seasons.

Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Parrish scored a record 77 points in a playoff game against Cedar Bluff in 2001. The Tornados were shutout the following week 19-0 by Courtland.
