Jon Clements leaves Springville with a record of 13-28 in just four seasons. His best team in 2023 showed promise even with a very difficult schedule and finished with a 5-6 record and a spot in the playoffs where they lost to Guntersville in the first round. Clements could not parlay that success into the 2024 football season as the Tigers fell to 3-7. 2025 Season Chris Metcalf lands his first head coaching job this off season at Springville. Metcalf is a 2008 graduate of Clay-Chalkville and attended UAB and Auburn. His coaching career began at John Carroll as an assistant during college and at Hoover following graduation. In 2021 he joined the staff at Minor under coach Adrian Abrams. | |

Luverne 'Toad' Wise was the first female football player in Alabama and may have been the first in the country. She was a kicker for the Escambia County Blue Devils in 1939-40.
