Miles Holcomb leaves Southside after just three seasons with an 18-15 record. His last team shared a tie for the region championship but fell to Boaz 10-7 in the first round of the playoffs. In five seasons as a head coach at Southside and Crossville his teams have finished a combined 26-28. 2024 Season Ben Stewart was hired as the next head football coach at Southside in March. He will be tasked to continue the success of Coach Holcomb last season. Stewart was the offensive coordinator at Oxford the past three seasons. He spent time as an assistant at Springville, his alma mater, and Hillcrest Tuscaloosa before Oxford. | |

The first night game played between high school teams in the state occurred on September 23, 1927 when Pike Road and Cloverdale met in the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery.
