2019 Weekly Predictions
The high school football playoffs are underway with the first round in the books. The Power Ratings should better reflect the better teams. That is not always the case as upsets do occur. Last week the favorites won 86 and missed on just 18 games. The favorites won just over 83% of their games. While we only missed one game in 1A we were slaughtered in 2A with six misses. We did go perfect in 7a predicting all eight games correctly.
There were a couple of upsets this week. The most notable was Saraland falling to Park Crossing by a score of 30-27. The Spartans were considered 19 point favorites entering the game on their home field. T.R. Miller upset #2 Pike County 32-13 on the road. The Tigers were 24 point underdogs. Those two games messed up a lot of fan's brackets for certain.
Each week we will let you know how the Computer did and how many favorites won according to the AHSFHS Power Ratings.
