 Josh Niblett

Josh Niblett attended and played quarterback at Demopolis Academy before playing football at the University of Alabama. He was named to the Birmingham News first team All-State teams in his junior and senior seasons in high school.

Niblett lettered three years with the Crimson Tide from 1993-95 for Coach Gene Stallings.

Nibletts first coaching job was as an assistant coach at Meadowview Christian Academy in the Spring of 1997 before he moved over to Jacksonville State University in the fall where he remained through the 1999 season.

Niblett began his high school football coaching career in 2000 when he was named the head coach at Oneonta.

Each of his teams at Oneonta won more games than the previous season culminating in a 3A State Championship following the 2004 season. The Redskins defeated Winfield 28-21 in the title game.

Prior to the 2005 season Niblett would take his talents to Oxford where he was the coach for three seasons.

Following the resignation of Rush Propst at Hoover High School in 2008, Josh was named the head coach at the perennial football power. During the past six seasons his Bucs have gone 84-6 while playing in the Super Six Championship game each season, winning three of them.

His first Class 6A Championship came in 2009 when the Bucs knocked off Prattville 28-23 in a hard fought battle of high school football titans. The 2012 Bucs shutout the Opelika Bulldogs 31-0 to claim a second title under Coach Niblett.

The Bucs won titles in 2013 and 2014 with wins over Auburn and Prattville to give Coach Niblett six state championships.

Nibletts overall record stands at 236-58. He was named the Coach of the Year by the Alabama Sports Writers in 2004 and 2011.

Niblett comes from a family of coaches. His dad, John had a 256-135-0 career coaching record at several stops, including Joshs alma mater, Demopolis Academy. His brother Tad was also the head football coach at Foley.
