Charles Sexton
Charles Sexton became the head football coach at Dozier in 1963. He moved to South Butler Academy in 1973 for two seasons. His 1978 team won the AISA State Championship with a 9-3 record.
In 1980 Coach Sexton returned to Dozier for the next six seasons. His teams went 40-28 and made the playoffs three times. His last two teams finished with 11-2 records.
He accepted the head coaching job at Highland Home High School for the start of the 1991 season. After three years with the program, Coach Sexton took the head coaching position at Samson in 1995. After the 1999 season, Sexton retired from the sidelines as a head coach.
Coach Sextons football record is incomplete since a few games are missing. His known overall in 26 years as a head football coach stands at 113-144-1.

The Super 6 State Championships began in 1996. Since then all title games were played at Legion Field in Birmingham until 2009.
