Bobby Parrish was a standout quarterback at Theodore High School in Mobile, Alabama. He also played defensive back in college at Alcorn State before receiving his degree.
After college, Parrish returned to his alma mater in 1986 as an assistant football and head basketball coach./p>
Parrish, 36, was named head football coach and athletic director at Williamson High School in the fall of 1999. He replaced retired head coach Curtis Horton for the Lions.
Over the next thirteen seasons the lions went a combined 96-57 under his leadership. His first team, with Jamarcus Russell at quarterback, went 10-5 and reached the state championship game before falling short of a title.
Parrish stepped down after the 2011 season following three straight losing seasons. He retired as the winningest coach in the history of Williamson football with 96 wins.
He returned to coaching in 2021 as the head coach at Cottage Hill Christian in Mobile. |
