These two Lamar County schools are about thirteen miles apart so they are very familiar with each other. They first met on the football field in 1924 when the Lamar County Bulldogs and the Sulligent Blue Devils fought to a 0-0 tie. Since that initial game, the teams have played every season since 1927 except 1933 and during World War II. Altogether they have faced each other a total of 101 times on the gridiron. Sulligent lead the series 54-40-7 with the two school splitting the last twenty-four games evenly with a dozen wins each. Since 2020 they have resided in the same region in Class 2A making this game that much more important each year. It is a highly anticipated part of each and every football season in the area.
