Pat Thompson replaced Stacy Luker in February 2014 as the head football coach at Sweet Water High School. This would be his first head coaching job after serving as the defensive coordinator for five of Sweet Waters state championship teams the past seven seasons.
Thompson is a graduate of West Alabama.
His teams at Sweet Water won state championships in 2017 and 2021 to add the the many previous titles for the Bulldogs.
