Slocomb completed the 2025 season with a 4-6 record. Last year Slocomb finished sixth in Class 3A region two with a 2-5 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. Slocomb struggled on the defensive side of the football last year. The defense found little success in stopping opposing offenses as they gave up an average of 39.3 points a game. Since 2010, Slocomb has gone a combined 89-82. Their 52.0% winning percentage ranks 26th in Class 3A over the past sixteen seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Slocomb has managed to compile a record of 145-129. Their 53.0% winning percentage ranks 21st in Class 3A and 172nd in the AHSAA. Head Coach: The Red Tops are led by head coach Paul McLean who is entering his fourth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 9-21 over the past three seasons at Slocomb. The Red Tops have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach McLean. Over the course of his career, Coach McLean's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of one time . Season Outlook: The Slocomb Red Tops will play in Class 3A region two during the 2026 season. The Red Tops got off to a miserable start in 2025 losing their first four games before settling down and claiming victories in four of their last six contests. Region Two does offer an opportunity for Slocomb to win enough region games to grab one of those coveted playoff spots in November. Hayes Hatton rushed for 1,062 yards and 13 TDs and will return for his Senior season. The Red Tops could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region two this season with a few breaks and a little improvement. Slocomb has failed to qualify for the playoffs since 2021 but hope to return to the post season this year. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The Jaguars closed out the regular season with a loss to LaFayette by a score of 37-6.
Slocomb and Barbour County have met a total of 4 times on the football field. The Red Tops have a 3-1-0 record against the Jaguars. They last met in 2015 with Slocomb winning by a score of 55-18.
