Elberta finished the 2025 season with a disappointing 0-10 record. Last year Elberta finished eighth in Class 5A region one with a 0-7 region record and failed to qualify for the playoffs. The defense allowed a team record 408 points last season. The Warriors have never qualified for a playoff spot and would love to break that streak this season. The Warriors have never won a playoff game in the school's history. They would like to break through and pick up that first post season victory in 2026. The offense struggled putting points on the score board as Elberta averaged scoring just 11.9 points a game. The Warriors also struggled on the defensive side of the football as they found little success in stopping opposing offenses and allowed an average of 40.8 points a game. The Warriors would prefer to forget the past two seasons as they have finished with a 1-19 record. Elberta is a relatively new football program having fielded a team only eight seasons. They have managed a record of 15-59 over the past eight years. Head Coach: The Warriors are led by head coach Joel Williams who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 0-10 record in his first season at Elberta. The Warriors have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Williams. Over the course of his career, Coach Williams' teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of four times and won two region championships. Season Outlook: The Elberta Warriors will play in Class 5A region one during the 2026 season. The Warriors enter the 2026 season in the middle of a 10 game losing streak. They would like nothing better than to end the string of losses early in the season. The Warriors have no way to go except up in 2026. One win over the past two seasons including 0-10 last year. It takes time to build a program and Coach Williams will need that time to build something in Elberta. This season, the Warriors will be a long shot for one of the four playoff spots in region one. After not winning a single game last year, the goal at Elberta will be to simply win some games. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The Coach had this to say:
When we arrived last June we had 28 players, we now have 70 varsity players and 150 from 7th grade and up. The program is growing and building with a lot of youth. We only have 7 senior.
Season Opener:
The Warriors open the 2026 season at home against non-region opponent Escambia County on Friday, August 21 at John T. Cobb Stadium. Last year the Escambia County Blue Devils finished with an overall record of 3-7 and in sixth place in Class 4A region one. The Blue Devils ended last season on a positive note with a win over Hillcrest Evergreen by a score of 28-7 after failing to gain a playoff spot.
This will be the second meeting between Elberta and Escambia County on the football field. The Warriors have a 0-1-0 record against the Blue Devils. They last met in with
