2026 Preview

Colbert Heights completed the 2025 season with a 5-5 record. Last year Colbert Heights just missed making the playoffs with a fifth place finish in Class 3A region seven with a 3-4 region record.        The Wildcats improved in 2025 with their first winning season since 2019.        Since 2010, Colbert Heights has gone a combined 81-88. Their 47.9% winning percentage ranks 31st in Class 3A over the past sixteen seasons.        Over the past 25 seasons, Colbert Heights has managed to compile a record of 132-133. Their 50.0% winning percentage ranks 26th in Class 3A and 197th in the AHSAA. Head Coach:        The Wildcats are led by head coach Brett Vick who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 5-5 record in his first season at Colbert Heights. The Wildcats saw improvement from a 4-6 record the season before coach Vick arrived. The Wildcats have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Vick. Over the course of his career, Coach Vick's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of one time . Season Outlook:        The Colbert Heights Wildcats will play in Class 3A region seven during the 2026 season.               A promising five game winning streak to open the 2025 football season ended with a five game losing streak to end the season and dash any hopes of making the playoffs. A little easier region realignment in 2026 could renew hopes of getting back to the post season for the Wildcats after a four year absence.     The Wildcats have a good shot at one of the last two playoff slots in region seven this season. Colbert Heights has failed to qualify for the playoffs since 2021 but hope to return to the post season this year.

Season Opener:
       The Wildcats open the 2026 season at home against non-region opponent Colbert County on Friday, August 21 at Amos Mitchell Stadium. Last year the Colbert County Indians finished with an overall record of 8-4 and in second place in Class 3A region seven. The Indians lost in the second round of the Class 3A playoffs to Gordo by a score of 49-29.

       Colbert Heights and Colbert County have met a total of 41 times on the football field. The Wildcats have a 4-37-0 record against the Indians. They last met in 2025 with Colbert County winning by a score of 32-8.
