 2023 Preview 


       Fort Dale Academy completed the 2022 season with a 4-6 record.

       Since 2010, Fort Dale Academy has gone a combined 66-75. Their 46.8% winning percentage ranks 7th in Class AAA over the past thirteen seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Fort Dale Academy has managed to compile a record of 157-122. Their 56.0% winning percentage ranks 5th in Class AAA and 14th in the AISA.




       The Eagles are led by head coach Eric Folmar who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 6-14 over the past two seasons at Fort Dale Academy. The Eagles have yet to reach the playoffs under his direction. They have not won a region crown with Coach Folmar.

      

       The Eagles open the 2023 season on the road against non-region opponent Hooper Academy on Friday, August 25 at Davis Henry Field. Last year the Hooper Academy Colts finished with an overall record of 2-8 and in fifth place in Class AA region one. The Colts closed out the regular season with a loss to Lowndes Academy by a score of 48-31.

       Fort Dale Academy and Hooper Academy have met a total of 33 times on the football field. The Eagles have a 20-13-0 record against the Colts. They last met in 2022 with Fort Dale Academy winning by a score of 45-14.

      

       The Eagles return AISA All-State Senior kicker Alan Alvarez. He was named to the first team last season. The Eagles also return Senior punter Ethan Alford. He was named to the first team. The Eagles also return Senior offensive lineman Jon Nolan Lawrence. He was named to the second team.

  


Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Parrish scored a record 77 points in a playoff game against Cedar Bluff in 2001. The Tornados were shutout the following week 19-0 by Courtland.
