Hooper Academy finished the 2021 season with a disappointing 3-7 record. The Colts last playoff victory came during the 1997 season. They would love to break through this year with a post season win. Since 2010, Hooper Academy has gone a combined 43-84. Their 33.9% winning percentage ranks 10th in Class AA over the past twelve seasons. Over the past 25 seasons, Hooper Academy has not won much with a record of 86-164. Their 34.0% winning percentage ranks 10th in Class AA and 25th in the AISA. The Colts are led by head coach Marty Baker who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 8-12 over the past two seasons at Hooper Academy. Under his direction the Colts have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Baker. Coach Baker's overall record as a head football coach in two season stands at 8-12 (40.0%). The Hooper Academy Colts will play in Class AA region one during the 2022 season. The Colts may find the schedule slightly easier this season with the move down in classification from Class AAA to AA. They will compete in region one this year. It will be an uphill battle for the Colts if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region one this season. The Colts open the 2022 season on the road against non-region opponent Fort Dale Academy on Thursday, August 25 at Fort Dale Stadium. Last year the Fort Dale Academy Eagles finished with an overall record of 2-8 and in sixth place in Class AAA region two. The Eagles closed out the regular season with a loss to Lowndes Academy by a score of 40-14. Hooper Academy and Fort Dale Academy have met a total of 33 times on the football field.
