 2022 Preview 


       Hewitt-Trussville completed the 2021 season with a 9-3 record. With their 5-2 region record and a third place finish in Class 7A region three, the Huskies earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. Hewitt-Trussville reached the second round of the playoffs before falling to Hoover by a score of 24-23.

       Since 2010, Hewitt-Trussville has gone a combined 91-45. Their 66.9% winning percentage ranks 6th in Class 7A over the past twelve seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Hewitt-Trussville has managed to compile a record of 178-101. Their 64.0% winning percentage ranks 8th in Class 7A and 68th in the AHSAA.




       The Huskies are led by head coach Josh Floyd who is entering his ninth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 65-27 over the past eight seasons at Hewitt-Trussville. Under his direction the Huskies have qualified for the playoffs a total of seven times. They have won two region crowns with Coach Floyd.

       Coach Floyd's overall record as a head football coach in eight season stands at 65-27 (70.7%).

       Rebuilding the offense will be the key for Coach Floyd in 2022. Junior Peyton Floyd will be starting at quarterback for the Huskies.

       The Hewitt-Trussville Huskies will play in Class 7A region three during the 2022 season.

       Hewitt-Trussville enters the 2022 season with a string of 8 consecutive wins on their home field at Hewitt-Trussville Stadium.

       The Huskies will be in the mix for one of the last two playoff spots in region three this season.

       The Huskies open the 2022 season on the road against non-region opponent Central Phenix City on Friday, August 19 at Garrett-Harrison Stadium. Last year the Central Phenix City Red Devils finished with an overall record of 13-1 and in first place in Class 7A region two. The Red Devils lost in the Class 7A State Championship game last season when they were defeated by Thompson. They final score was 38-22 in the Super Seven finals in Birmingham.

       Hewitt-Trussville and Central Phenix City have met a total of 2 times on the football field. The Huskies have a 0-2-0 record against the Red Devils. They last met in with

       Hewitt-Trussville returns 7A All-State  defensive lineman Hunter Osborne. He was named to the second team last season.
