Valiant Cross Academy finished the 2021 season with a disappointing 3-5 record. With their 1-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class AAA region one, the Warriors earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. Valiant Cross Academy's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Tuscaloosa Academy by a score of 31-12. No team at Valiant Cross Academy ever won more games in a season than the three victories last year. The 160 points scored by the Warriors last year were a team record in a single season. The Warriors qualified for the playoffs for the first time in the school's history in 2021. The Warriors have never won a playoff game in the school's history. They would like to break through and pick up that first post season victory in 2022. Valiant Cross Academy is a relatively new football program having fielded a team only two seasons. They have managed a record of 5-13 over the past two years. The Warriors will be under the direction of new head football coach Larry Ware as they enter the 2022 season. Coach Ware's overall record as a head football coach in ten season stands at 49-58 (45.8%). Over the course of his career, Coach Ware's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of four times . The Valiant Cross Academy Warriors will play in Class AAA region one during the 2022 season. Valiant Cross Academy will face six opponents that reached the playoffs last season. It will be an uphill battle for the Warriors if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region one this season. The Warriors open the 2022 season on the road against region opponent Morgan Academy on Friday, September 2 at Morgan Field. Last year the Morgan Academy Senators finished with an overall record of 5-6 and in second place in Class AAA region two. The Senators lost in the first round of the Class AAA playoffs to Glenwood School by a score of 54-41. Valiant Cross Academy and Morgan Academy have met a total of 4 times on the football field. The Warriors have a 1-3-0 record against the Senators.
