 2022 Preview 


       South Choctaw Academy completed the 2021 season with a 5-6 record. With their 3-2 region record and a third place finish in Class A region two, the Rebels earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. South Choctaw Academy's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Crenshaw Christian by a score of 21-18.

       Since 2010, South Choctaw Academy has gone a combined 65-72. Their 47.4% winning percentage ranks 4th in Class A over the past twelve seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, South Choctaw Academy has managed to compile a record of 146-134. Their 52.0% winning percentage ranks 5th in Class A and 52nd in the AISA.




       The Rebels are led by head coach Charlie Taylor who is entering his sixteenth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 103-71 over the past fifteen seasons at South Choctaw Academy. Under his direction the Rebels have qualified for the playoffs a total of thirteen times. They have won three region crowns with Coach Taylor. Coach Taylor led to a state championship in 2007.

       Coach Taylor's overall record as a head football coach in nineteen season stands at 117-98 (54.4%). His 117 wins rank 9th among active coaches in the AISA. Over the course of his career, Coach Taylor's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of thirteen times and won three region championships.

       The South Choctaw Academy Rebels will play in Class A region two during the 2022 season.

       The Rebels should be in contention for a playoff spot in region two this season. They will be looking to gain an advantage by hosting a first round postseason game.

       The Rebels open the 2022 season on the road against non-region opponent Wayne Academy MS on Friday, August 19.

       South Choctaw Academy and Wayne Academy MS have met a total of 22 times on the football field. The Rebels have a 11-11-0 record against Wayne Academy MS. They last met in 2021 with Wayne Academy MS winning by a score of 41-21.
