 2022 Preview 


       North Jackson completed the 2021 season with a 5-6 record. With their 5-2 region record and a third place finish in Class 4A region seven, the Chiefs earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. North Jackson's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Gordo by a score of 37-7.

       Since 2010, North Jackson has gone a combined 79-57. Their 58.1% winning percentage ranks 23rd in Class 4A over the past twelve seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, North Jackson has gone a combined 198-92. Their 68.0% winning percentage ranks 6th in Class 4A and 53rd in the AHSAA.




       The Chiefs are led by head coach Joe Hollis Jr. who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 5-6 record in his first season at North Jackson. Under his direction the Chiefs have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Hollis Jr..

       Coach Hollis Jr.'s overall record as a head football coach in one season stands at 5-6 (45.5%).

       The North Jackson Chiefs will play in Class 4A region eight during the 2022 season. Following realignment, the Chiefs remain in 4A but move from region seven over to region eight.

       The Chiefs should be in contention for a playoff spot in region eight this season. They will be looking to gain an advantage by hosting a first round postseason game.

       The Chiefs open the 2022 season at home against non-region opponent Scottsboro on Friday, August 26 at R.D. Hicks Stadium. Last year the Scottsboro Wildcats finished with an overall record of 3-7 and in fifth place in Class 6A region seven. The Wildcats closed out the regular season with a loss to Fyffe by a score of 45-7.

       North Jackson and Scottsboro have met a total of 37 times on the football field. The Chiefs have a 21-16-0 record against the Wildcats. They last met in 2021 with Scottsboro winning by a score of 16-12.
