Montevallo completed the 2021 season with a 8-3 record. With their 5-2 region record and a third place finish in Class 4A region three, the Bulldogs earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. Montevallo's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Jackson by a score of 44-20. Since 2010, Montevallo has gone a combined 63-66. Their 50.0% winning percentage ranks 29th in Class 4A and 192nd in the AHSAA. The Bulldogs are led by head coach Blake Boren who is entering his third season at the helm. The Wildcats lost in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs to Faith Academy by a score of 42-14. Montevallo and Shelby County have met a total of 74 times on the football field.
