 2022 Preview 


       Lee-Scott Academy completed the 2021 season with a 8-3 record. With their 3-1 region record and a second place finish in Class AAA region one, the Warriors earned a spot in the playoffs in 2021. Last year Lee-Scott Academy reached the semi-finals before falling to a very good Tuscaloosa Academy team by the score of 26-13.

       The Warriors improved in 2021 with their first winning season since 2017. The Warriors won as many games as in any season since 2015. The Warriors hope to continue the success they had last season. Coach Daniel saw improvement as they won eight games following a 2-7 record in 2020.

       Since 2010, Lee-Scott Academy has gone a combined 69-61. Their 53.1% winning percentage ranks 5th in Class AAA over the past twelve seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, Lee-Scott Academy has managed to compile a record of 135-131. Their 51.0% winning percentage ranks 7th in Class AAA and 19th in the AISA.




       The Warriors are led by head coach James Daniel who is entering his third season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 10-10 over the past two seasons at Lee-Scott Academy. Under his direction the Warriors have qualified for the playoffs a total of two times. They have not won a region crown with Coach Daniel.

       Coach Daniel's overall record as a head football coach in five season stands at 24-29 (45.3%). Over the course of his career, Coach Daniel's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of four times and won one region championship.

       The Lee-Scott Academy Warriors will play in Class AAA region one during the 2022 season. Lee-Scott Academy will face six opponents that reached the playoffs last season.

       The Warriors enter the 2022 season riding a 6 game regular season winning streak.

       The Warriors should be in contention for a playoff spot in region one this season. They will be looking to gain an advantage by hosting a first round postseason game.

       The Warriors open the 2022 season on the road against non-region opponent Chambers Academy on Thursday, August 18 at Torbert-Allen Field. Last year the Chambers Academy Rebels finished with an overall record of 10-2 and in first place in Class AA region one. The Rebels lost in the semi-finals round of the Class AA playoffs to Escambia Academy by a score of 37-13.

       Lee-Scott Academy and Chambers Academy have met a total of 28 times on the football field. The Warriors have a 16-12-0 record against the Rebels. They last met in 2021 with Chambers Academy winning by a score of 41-3.

       Lee-Scott Academy returns AISA All-State Senior linebacker Dalan Bush. He was named to the honorable mention team last season.

Collinsville completed the 1931 season with a record of 1-4-5. The five ties will forever be a state record since all games are now decided by overtime.
