 2018 Preview 


       Pleasant Home completed the 2017 season with a 5-6 record. With their 3-4 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 1A region two, the Eagles earned a spot in the playoffs in 2017. Pleasant Home's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Wadley by a score of 65-18.

       It marked the first time since the 2012 season that the Eagles qualified for the playoffs.

       Since 2010, Pleasant Home has gone a combined 31-53. Their 37.0% winning percentage ranks 42nd in Class 1A over the past eight seasons.

       Over the past 18 seasons, Pleasant Home has managed to compile a record of 65-119. Their 35.0% winning percentage ranks 46th in Class 1A and 312nd in the AHSAA. The Eagles have struggled on the football field with only four winning seasons during this time.




       The Eagles are led by head coach Richard Mercer who is entering his second season at the helm. His team finished with a 5-6 record in his first season at Pleasant Home. Under his direction the Eagles have qualified for the playoffs once. They have not won a region crown with Coach Mercer.

       Coach Mercer's overall record as a head football coach in two season stands at 5-16 (23.8%). Over the course of his career, Coach Mercer's teams have qualified for the playoffs a total of one time .

       The Pleasant Home Eagles will play in Class 1A region two during the 2018 season.

       With a little luck and some improvement, the Eagles could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region two this season.

       The Eagles open the 2018 season on the road against non-region opponent Elberta on Friday, August 24.
