Tabernacle completed the 2015 season with a 10-1 record. The Torches cruised through the regular season with a perfect 9-0 record going into the post season. Last year Tabernacle captured the region two title and a number one seed in the Class 8 Man playoffs. They finished region play with a 6-0 record. It was the first region championship for the Torches. Since 2010, Tabernacle has gone a combined 49-17. Their 74.0% winning percentage ranks 2nd in Class 8 Man over the past six seasons. Over the past 19 seasons, Tabernacle has managed to compile a record of 98-56. Their 64.0% winning percentage ranks 3rd in Class 8 Man and 4th in the . Their last losing season was 2009. The Torches are led by head coach Keith Dabbs who is entering his twelveth season at the helm. He has compiled a record of 65-45 over the past eleven seasons at Tabernacle. Under his direction the Torches have qualified for the playoffs a total of six times. They have won one region crown with Coach Dabbs. Coach Dabbs led Tabernacle to a state championship in 2007. Coach Dabbs' overall record as a head football coach in eleven season stands at 65-45 (59.1%). The Tabernacle Torches will play in Class 8 Man region two during the 2016 season. The Torches enter the 2016 season riding a 13 game regular season winning streak. Tabernacle has won 8 consecutive region games. The Torches open the 2016 season at home against non-region opponent Opp on Friday, August 26 at Moncrief Park. Last year the Opp Bobcats finished with an overall record of 8-4 and in third place in Class 3A region one. The Bobcats lost in the second round of the Class 3A playoffs to Gordo by a score of 33-14.
