Game MVP: QB Keith Harrison, Maplesville
Records: Maplesville (15-0); Lynn (11-4)
Coaches: Jim Hubbert, Maplesville and Trey Holladay, Lynn
Game: Thursday December 12, 1996 Legion Field, Birmingham

Summary:
More than a decade of near misses became a memory as Maplesville capped a 15-0 season with a state title. Seven times the team from Maplesville had lost in the semi-finals or the championship game since 1984. Lynn Cagle would rush 37 times for 306 yards but it was not enough to overcome the record setting offense of Maplesville.
Red Devil's MVP quarterback Keith Harrison ran for 122 yards on 14 carries and completed 3 of 6 passes for another 63 yards.
