Summary: The 39-20 victory over Hartselle gave Eufaula their second championship in four years. Hartselle would finish as runner-up for the second consecutive season.
Derrick Richardson led the way with 19 tackles from his
defensive tackle position.
He also added 176 yards on 23 carries
and scored on runs of 9, 8 and 70 yards. Richardson caught a pass
for 24 yards and a fourth touchdown to lock up the win. Williams
was the leading gainer for Hartselle with 56 yards on 12
carries.
Hartselle came into the game as the No.1 rated offense
in class 3A while Eufaula ranked as the No. 1 defense.
Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History
The Tuscaloosa Black Bears were considered one of the best programs in the nation from 1925-1931. Their record over that span was an amazing 61-0-3.
