            Beaty played on the varsity football team 3 years and was captain 1 year. He was All-County 1968-69, Morgan County Most Valuable Player 1969-70, All-T.V.C. 1969-70, All-State 1969-70. Last season, he made 90 individual tackles, 65 assists, intercepted 2 passes, and recovered 6 fumbles.

Etowah defeated Oxford 69-63 in 1991 to set a state record for most points scored by both teams in a playoff game.
