 The 1962 Foley Lions were chosen Class A State Champions by the Birmingham Post Herald
 

 
 

The Foley Lions, led by future NFL quarterback Kenny Snake Stabler followed up on their 1961 State Title by repeating in 1962. The Lions have won 29 of their last 30 games. Snake would run for 5 touchdowns and throw for another 15 in 1962 as a junior. The Lions had a powerful running game with Wayne Chisenhall, 7 TDs, and Don Foster, 10 TDs, leading the way.
