 The 1962 Cullman Bearcats were chosen Class A State Champions by the Birmingham Post Herald
 

 
 

The Cullman Bearcats finished the 1962 season with a perfect 7-0 Tennessee Valley Conference record and 10-0 for the season to claim their first every state title.

Offensively Cullman averaged 39 points a game with their closest game coming against Decatur in a 20-0 victory. They were led on offense by Wayne Trimble and Leslie Kelley.
